March 2, 2016 - A six-point bull elk in Gardiner Canyon, bison near Blacktail Ponds on Blacktail Plateau, and bighorn sheep in Lamar Valley; pictures from the trip to Yellowstone National Park this week.

 

 

March 1, 2016 - Grey, windy and cold in the Park again today.  This is a young Bighorn ram in with the ewes and yearling lambs near the Yellowstone River.  The bird is a Water Ouzel or Dipper foraging in Gardiner River.  I will post more photos from Yellowstone this week. 

February 29, 2016 - Leap year day.  This morning was snowbright white up on Blacktail Plateau.

 

This big grey wolf was moving through the sage along a hillside beside Gardiner River above Gardiner Canyon.

 

 



February 28, 2016 - We are spending three winter days in Yellowstone Park.  Today was cloudy, dark, windy and overcast.  These icefalls are in Icebox Canyon on Soda Butte Creek.
