May 5, 2017 - Prague Czech Republic.  Day 3.
 
Bronze Griffin, Famous, very old, astronomical clock at old Town Hall, Wood door (This beautiful carved door is over 10' high.  To me the saintly shroud above the head is held by things that seem to create horns rather than a halo.), A beautiful metal door, likewise as impressive, An albino Peahen in a small park in the city, And the Mute Swans going to feed in the evening.  






May 4, 2017 - Prague Czech Republic.  Day 2

May 3, 2017 - Prague Czech Republic.  Day 1.
 
Old Prague and the castle above the city from the Charles Bridge across the Vltava River.  West end of Charles Bridge.  Mute Swans on the river.  One of the many statues on Charles Bridge and the cathedral at the castle.  Night scene.  Czech crystal and glass.

May 2, 2017 - Salzburg Austria.  The end of our trip along the "German Alpine Road" through the Bavarian Alps.
 
A curious Austrian carving with horns from the 18th century (used as chandelier), the fortress on the hill above Salzburg, palace gardens, an abandoned well in a brewery (click to notice the bottom of the well).

Our second week of travels comes to an end with our visit to Salzburg Austria.
May 1, 2017 - Berchtesgadener & Konigssee Germany.  This is a German National Park; very small, very beautiful.  Hitler's "Eagle's Nest" house is visible on a ridge high above the lake.
 
St. Bartholoma Church on the lake, a Red Stag carving outside the restaurant, and the mountains above.   




Chaffinch, and Red Stags in velvet about half way thru their antler growth.




A confusion of field dogs and birds, mallards beside the lake, and a beautiful Ibex bronze.




April 30, 2017 Morning - Zugspitze Germany.  The Zugspitze, in the Bavarian Alps is the highest point in Germany above the town of Garmish, Alpine Choughs (similar to small crows), another view looking south to the Austrian Alps, and a view from the mountain to one of the valleys below. 




 
April 30th Afternoon - Traveling east along the German Alpine Road toward Berchtesgadener and Konigssee.





April 29, 2017 Morning - Lindau Germany.  The old city of Lindau is on an island in the Bodensee (Boden Lake).  Lindau is the starting place for the German Alpine Road through the Bavarian Alps.  The "Road" is a route along many interconnecting roads.
 
Lindau Harbor, A Mute Swan on the lake, Café before opening time, Great Grebes in the harbor, City clock tower 1422 AD, Mute Swan. 







Midday April 29th - Bavarian Antique Shop somewhere along our route,  The bird is a Fieldfare, and the view of the German Alps from our picnic lunch spot.
 


 
 
Afternoon April 29th - Ettal Germany.  A small town along the way, The view from our gasthof, Bullfinch, and the door of our gasthof, Hotel Blaue Gams.
