July 1, 2017 - Prairie Fences. The last seven miles home from town are on a gravel road through rolling prairie grasslands at the foot of the Bighorns. In the summertime this is home to many western grassland bird species. Yesterday, on my way from town about lunchtime I took these photographs of 10 bird species.
Red-winged Blackbird-
Eastern Kingbird-
Lark Sparrow-
Lark Bunting-
Vesper Sparrow-
Western Meadowlark-
Golden Eagle-
Unknown Sparrow, perhaps a juvenile
Dickcissel-
And a Bobolink-
I have had so much to catch up on! Looks like it has been a beautiful summer and you are definitely the bird man! Love you and can't wait to see you!
