January 9, 2021 - During a few days on and near the winter solstice for a few minutes near noon the sun shines through our south living room window, reflects off the floor, and spotlights the deer on the north wall of the study. The picture was taken a couple of weeks ago on December 22nd at 11:45am. This is the same solar effect that enabled first peoples to calculate a calendar. I think of the sun dagger spiral on Fajada Butte in Chaco Canyon.
