August 5, 2016 - This cow moose was feeding on the willow leaves right beside the truck in the driveway yesterday evening. I noted the height of her shoulder compared to the truck window and this morning measured the height to the window. The moose is about 5'-9" tall at the shoulder. That would make her head well over 7' tall. I think she is about 6" taller than a good sized saddle horse. These are big animals; especially noticeable when you can see their entire leg down to the hoof. This morning she was lingering in the woods down by the creek; no calf.
They don't visit me here, I miss it.
